Protecting Your Pieces

Travertine, limestone and marble are porous. Wipe spills promptly, use coasters under anything acidic, and clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than a household spray. Reseal every twelve to eighteen months depending on use.

Keep oak and walnut out of direct sunlight, which will shift the colour unevenly over time. Dust with a dry cloth, and use a barely damp cloth for anything more, drying immediately. Avoid silicone polishes.

Bronze and blackened steel develop a patina. That is intended, and it is what gives the material its depth. If you prefer to slow it, wipe with a dry cloth and keep the surface free of moisture and fingerprints.

Vacuum regularly with a brush attachment and rotate cushions so wear stays even. Blot spills, never rub. For anything beyond a light spot clean, use a professional cleaner and follow the fabric manufacturer's code.

Leather softens and marks with use. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat sources, dust it regularly, and condition once or twice a year. Do not use saddle soap or solvent-based cleaners.
